Trouble In Mind leaves no stone unturned in reintroducing Kent, U.K. band The Dentists to a new era of listeners. After reissuing the band’s underheard masterpiece “Some People Are On The Pitch They Think It’s All Over It Is Now” in 2013, we present to you the band’s debut single launched in 1985 prior to the release of “Some People Are On The Pitch...”, containing three tunes not featured on that album.

Kicking off with the paisley-tinged jangle of “Strawberries Are Growing In My Garden (and it’s Wintertime)”, an exhilarating combination of C-86 indie jangle & neo-psychedelia, with an earworm of a chorus for the ages; slightly melancholic, but with a hopeful stride. The B-side starts with “Burning The Thoughts From My Skin” a shambolic, upbeat rocker laced with the scruffy ferociousness of their punk roots. “Doreen” closes us out with a yearning plea to a female chanteuse to open her heart & mind that evolves from a plaintive ballad into a savage rocker by the end of the tune, with guitarist Bob Collins slashing out riffs like a man possessed.

The 2014 edition of “Strawberries Are Growing In My Garden (and it’s Wintertime)” comes housed in a near-faithful reproduction of the original Spruck Records picture sleeve & includes a download code. PLEASE NOTE: THESE COPIES ALL COME WITH VARYING DEGREES OF CORNER DAMAGE & ARE REDUCED IN PRICE. VINYL IS UNPLAYED & IN PERFECT SHAPE.

RIYL: The Byrds, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Prisoners, R.E.M., XTC, Allah-Las
